If you look on Amazon, you can find Apple Car play adapters that will connect to your radio wirelessly, you need to check the description to see if the radio will work, but Chevy Mylinks usually do. You just plug it in to the usb port and the bluetooth in the radio picks it up. I have had one in my 17 Suburban and it works very well. If that does not work, then changing the radio might be another option but only as a last resort as it can be very challenging to swap them out, due to so many items running throught the radio as a gateway.

 

What exactly did you buy. My 2017 doesn’t have car play from apple or navigation, both of which I really would like. I just see so many different options that makes me confused. I just want to be able to use my Apple Music, navigation and other apps that are linked to my iPhone to a radio. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

 

Hey I know this was a while back but figured people (like me) might still want a solution. You can spend the $1000ish for that MVI replacement, or you can spend $30-$100+ depending on features you want and just add a standalone screen with Android auto and car play built in. Amazon and temu have tons of them.

I got a $35 basic one for my mom's 2016 Buick encore. It's perfect. So fast and easy. Wireless Android auto and car play. I'm giddy.

I got a $200 one (open box for $100) for my terrain because I want more features. Currently testing but it's wireless plug and play also.

They both come with various mounting options and a cigarette lighter adapter (and aux cable but I don't use that). You just connect to your phone via wifi while your phone connects to your car speakers via Bluetooth. The oem radio/wiring doesn't change at all, and I can connect my backup camera to it if I want also. The more expensive one came with the cable.
It also has a dash cam, sim card, and some other features.

It's all so seamless. I don't know if I'm permitted to link products but if I am ill add what I bought to this post.

Sure if you have a spare $1000+ laying around to put into a $9000 car. I prefer the $40 option I got.

 

Hey I keep getting emailed about this thread so wanted to jump in. Did u read my comment to it? Look for a wireless car play screen on Amazon or temu. They have a bunch.

 

We have one like this in our 2014. We use a mount that attaches to the cd player slot.
