2014 Equinox - questions on rims and suspension

Hey all,

I have a 2014 Nox and love it as a daily driver......the layout of the interior is just right and the gas mileage is EXCELLENT.

Figure its time to get some rims and lower it which brings me to my questions:

  • Will the Camaro SS 20 inch rims fit perfectly on my nox? Will i need washers or anything to make it flush with the wheel well?
  • What is the best lowering springs right now?

Thanks all!!!

Attached pics of my 20x8 replicas Camaro SS wheels for www.oewheelsllc.com

A stock set will work as well, but they're 20x8 from & 20x9 rear, so rotating is out unless you buy them in matching pairs. The stock offsets, as well as the reproduction offsets fit the Equinox/Terrain nicely, so no need for spacers. The stock lugnuts will work, but are a bit too long IMO to look good, so the stock Camaro SS lugs look better and also fit perfectly.

...oh, and lowering springs are almost impossible to find, allthough there was a post recently where a member found a company that will make them, but no has tried them yet to my knowledge... There was a limited run of lowering springs, but they sold out about a year ago...

as well once again, thanks for the replies to all of you.

With the OEM camaro SS being staggered will that effect my ride quality or mileage more then say buying replica rims of the same size??

I just noticed on a quick google search that lowering springs are really limited, anyone have feedback on the springs mentioned in the other thread?? I dont believe i read anywhere about actual review of them being on...

I can confirm that the 1st gen Equinox front struts fit on 2nd gen with my lowering springs. I used the FE3 sport struts. So it probably works the other way around.

Yep, its all the same chassis, that's why I think the Megan Racing Saturn VUE springs will work, they have been proven to work in the 1st generation Equinox.

Get the Megan Racing springs on Amazon, if they don't work, you could return them, and if they work it would be a good test and another option for the community. I'll help you research if you want. I will talk to the guy on the Equinox Facebook group what he did with his 1st gen.

Edit: way cheaper here, almost is steal if it works. http://www.redline360.com/megan-racing-lowering-springs-saturn-vue-MR-LS-SV02

"Yes but only in the front, the Equinox springs are pigtailed at the ends vs the Saturn Vue are not. The rear turned out to be the excact same." He bought and used Saturn Vue Front struts, bolted right up like stock. The springs are apparently a different design, so the Vue struts spring mount are the same to match, but dimensions on the car are identical. If that makes sense

Rears are the same on all theta models, Vue, any Equinox, the VUE struts up front though may have a different spring design and strut to accommodate , but they both mount to the chassis and suspension the same way as the Equinox.

I am looking for wider wheels/rims....i love the look from the front and back with wide wheel setup.

what do you guys recommend if i am looking for a wide setup?

i only know to look for 5x120 bolt but unsure about the rest of the settings.....

9" is about as wide as you can go, Camaro and Equinox share the exact same wheel patterns, bore, etc, 5x120 67mm bore.
