Wiper Blades

3431 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Merchdawg
I bought a used 2010 terrain with 20,000 miles on it. It was a trade in from the Financer's wife who works at the dealership.

The wiper blades kinda suck. Not a smooth wipe at all. I drive far to and from work so I need good blades.

Should I ask the dealership to replace them at no charge?

Wiper blades are considered maintenance. But your dealer might replace them.
I would have to agree with the previous post. I would recommend discussing this with the dealer. Please feel free to keep me posted. Thank you.

If you are on good terms with the salesman, it wouldn't hurt to ask. The worst they can say is no. Show him how bad they are. If he won't give you new ones, see if he will give you a discount.
I did the same thing when I bought my Terrain. Casually I asked if he could throw in the mud flaps, not expecting anything --- he said sure.

It's almost no cost to the dealer to do so.
This has already been discussed in detail in the following thread.

I have had to have my passenger side wiper blade replaced when it just tore apart and just noticed the other day that my rear has started the same thing. My Terrain is 15 months old and I have done 2 cross country trips in it and the wiper blades are just horrible. Skipping on the way up and not clearing properly on the way down. The only advice I can give you is to put rain-x on your windshield. That will at least minimize the amount of times you will need to turn on the wipers.
