Has anyone had luck buying a transfer case off of 3bay? Fairly certain the wife's has went out on her 2013 gmc terrain 3.6l. Didn't know if it's worth getting one from there or from the gm parts website. I seen they are listed around $1,200. Thanks

This has come up on this Forum a few times. This GM Dealer Parts website shows it "ON BACKORDER" (like it was last year when someone else was trying to locate one)

You could try www.car-part.com, too. Enter your Terrain info, ZIPCODE, and distance away ... and you'll see plenty in there ... some even allegedly brand new (probably also on EBay)

I know it's been covered some as far as getting them from gm. Found them on gmpartsonline. I hadn't read anything about the quality of the ones off ebay. Ebay has them for $700 roughly but haven't been able to find anyone who has tried them. I assume it's you get what you pay for. But idk.

Just looked on EBay. My gut feeling is those $600-$800 units won't last. And those 2-year warranties probably aren't real, either ... or they're almost impossible to make a claim on. I would pay the extra money and get the genuine GM part. It's only another $300+. To me, that just means you're holding onto the vehicle for a few more days beyond what you'd hold it for with the cheaper, but also riskier, part.

So I don't believe that gmonlineparts website I posted is a good place to do business after further investigation. I ended up calling my local dealer and they found one in Minnesota so I went that route. Yes I'll update soon. Sorry about that. Thanks for your responses btw.
