Make sure if you have your Tires rotated by the Dealeer they recalibrate each sensor on each wheel..They did not do it for me..I noticed it when I let sum air out of the Rear driver side tire..the air pressure dropped in the Front Driver side Tire..Too much of a hassle to take it back for them to do it..so I did it..It tells u Step by Step in the Terrain manual incase it ever happens to anyone or you Rotate the Tires urself..You have to redo each Tire Sensor according to Manual...

i am sure you have heard of Brain Freeze...well these guys in Florida have Heat Freeze... ;D

Its pretty easy to do it. Ive done it on our Malibu and it takes maybe a minute tops. Its easier to have all the stem caps off and next to the tire to do it. Also easier to do it when its around dusk so you can see the corner lights better.

Do the lights flash or something?
I haven't had a chance to read up on this yet, but thanks for the heads up nitti48 and bballr4567.

Yea, the lights turn on at each corner. IIRC, they will blink twice to let you know to let the air out and then the horn will honk to let you know its been confirmed.

Dealer did the rotation yesterday. Didn't think to check the indicators(never had that function before). Will check tonight when I get home. Thanks

I just did mine today..u can set the relearn on the inside..by hitting the Set/Ctlr...The horn beeps and it asks if u want the tire sensors to relearn..then u start at front driver side(I added air) till the horn beeped..then went on to front passenger tire..added air..rear passenger..added air till it beeped and finished at rear driver side and added air till it beeped..Shut off power..turned back on and let out air from each tire accordingly..Saved me a Trip to Dealer

See that's what I've been doing...using the "Relearn" from the DIC.
Seems to work fine, but haven't rotated tires yet.
Takes a fairly long time to "Relearn" and prompts "Are you sure" (sounds like microsoft...LOL) before it starts.

I can't see any reason to mess with the sensors.
You figure in this day and age the onboard computers can tell which sensor is mounted where.
I don't know.
Guess I'll see when I do the first rotation next oil change.

You will see if they do not relearn..just look at a 4 sensors..let sum outta left front and see if the left front loses air..if the rear driver loses air then they did not reprogram sensors

This is what you need to do in order for the system to re-learn?

can this procedure be used if your are changing over to a set of 4 mounted winter tires that have 4 new GM sensors ?(different than the ones that came with the car) i.e same model/make sensor, but different Serial Number.

I would think that they all transmit at the same frequency, so it ought to work, but would like someone with real world experience. i.e. trying to avoid paying the dealer to "initialize" the system each winter/summer.

I just picked up a tipstool over the internet for about $70. I can confirm that this tool works on our vehicles. It took all of two minutes. ;D

Yes, absolutely RIT333. That's exactly what I have done for my winter wheel set. Even though I'd like to have re-learn tool, I haven't bought one yet. I've just been using the trucks onboard re-learn procedure. [/color]

Pretty cool.

I'd still do it for free because it really is simple.

What is the on-board learning procedure? My manual has nothing about it except that a relearn tool is required.

Yep, I saw it there. Man, it sure would have been nice if they had not removed those directions from the manual. Live and learn.
