I went to my local Chevrolet dealer parts department yesterday to get some touch up paint for the wheels on my Equinox. "We don't have any touch up paint for wheels" I was told by the parts counter person!!! I then asked how is a person supposed to touch up scratches on wheels should a person scratch them? "Well we don't know", was the answer I received.
I've never heard of such a thing. Although I've never tried to purchase touch up paint for any wheels I've ever owned either. Could this be true??? NO TOUCH UP PAINT FOR CHEVROLET WHEELS? I guess I'll ask anyone here the same question, Does anyone know where I can purchase Touch up Paint for a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox that matches the color?

THe wheels ARE not painted....So what are you trying to touch-up?

The clear coat is messed up...Seek out a RIM shop to see if they can repair

You got a better answer then I would've given at the parts counter...but I bring the added value of sarcasm!

Wow...my wife must have a rare wheel on her LTZ..then ! Trouble is..it looks just like the 17" silver metallic 'painted' and clear coated stock Equinox aluminum alloy wheel on all others to me. Look close..it sparkles with metallic flakes under the clear coat. That be..nicely 'painted'. I know..I clean 'em..! We love the look of them.
Sorry..never heard of wheel touch up paint. Sounds like a body shop fix to me.

Thanks Tjpc
I suppose that I may have been little sarcastic as well. It can be a somewhat surprising unless you look closely..especially in direct sunlight that picks up the sparkle. I think that they did a really good job on them with what seems like a durable finish....unless of course you scratch them ...but a body shop should be able to offer a match for the paint. :thumb:

I have dabbed on some Rustoleum Silver Metalic paint on a chip on my wheel, and it matched pretty well.

GM does well on the wheels. I had same color set up on my '02Trailblazer and I had no problems/scratches whatsoever for 10 yrs
