What Did You Trade In for Your Equinox?

Just curious what people were driving before they got an Equinox. I traded in my 2004 Mazda6 (6 cyl, loaded). I was a little worried I'd miss the tight handling of the Mazda6, but the Equinox is right up there with it.

This is my first GM car, but oddly enough, it's the first foreign made car I've ever had. All the others (Ford, Mazda, Honda) were built in the US.

2003 Pontiac Vibe, 5 speed stick. No problems at 100K miles. Miss the Manual tranny, but love the extra features, comfort, quietness, and looks of the Equinox LTZ. It's a keeper !
2007 Chevy Avalanche. Loved it, but the gas was lkilling me as I do ~30,000/year.

We had a POS 2000 Pontiac Grand Am. Both window assemblies needed to be replaced, since the little white plastic clips that held up the windows both broke within a week of each other. The dash was separating from the display panel, and there was noticeable rust on the passenger side door panel. It only had about 75,000 miles on it. We had sworn off GM, too. But, the newly redesigned Equinox had us changing our tune. And, so far, we love everything about it. Hopefully, the 'Nox gives us many, many years of enjoyment.
I traded in a 2009 GMC Sierra SLT z71. Gorgeous truck, loved it to pieces, it just suffered from a bit of lemon juice, all over the electronics. It got to the point that every week something new electrical would work weird. Man was it a nice truck, cosmetically and the ride, but it was definitely a lemon.

The equinox is smaller, but thats its. Its smooth, comfortable, and remarkably quiet on the road.
I sold my 2002 Saturn L200 to a private party for a really good price. It was fairly low miles, but I was tired of driving a smaller 4 door car and sitting so low to the ground. Used the money towards my down payment on my 2010 Equixox which I love, love, love. Her name is NOXANN.
I traded in a 2003 Toyota Matrix XRS with 112k miles. I had purchased it new in March 2002. It was one of the first Matrices produced. Good car, and I had only a few problems with it. My biggest issue with it was that it had very low ground clearance at the front and I banged it up a few times on parking lot obstacles.

I named by Equinox "Quinn" as in eQUINNox.
traded my 2007 escalade loaded.

do miss the truck...but i hated paying 1000 a month for a vehicle...
Traded a Nissan Maxima 3.5SE 2006 fully loaded.

Miss the performance, but i like everything else about the Terrain :)

The Maxima is a very powerful car.
2009 Cobalt SS Turbo Sedan (1 of 474 produced and 1 of 15 Rally Yellow)

I used the car mainly for weekends and a few SCCA road racing events. I had the car dyno'd @ 321whp/335wtrq, and had such a nice torque curve. Suspension was larger rear bar and pedders springs (rest was stock). Let me just say this car handled like few others can. It was a blast to drive on an open road course....lots of power and amazing control in a twisty

I wanted to keep the car, but I didnt want a "POS" sitting in the driveway to just pull some toys I picked up, I wanted something that could do both. Couldnt justify 2 payments (for a POS was only willing to spend at tops 5k, and for that a POS is all I would've been able to get when talking trucks), plus having 3 cars at my house didnt make sense (would have to play rearrange anytime I wanted to do anything). Figured waverunners>scca events every 3months. At first I was going with a Forrestor w/ the Turbo engine, but I didnt like the ride quality, the drivetrain noise was horrible and interior was worse than my cobalt. If I didnt swear off VW/Audi I would've picked up one of those small utes (I like TURBO's).....but 2 prior Audi's and nothing but issues.....I say never again :)

This is the FIRST non supercharged/turbocharged engine I've personally owned since I was in 19 :(

You're not going to believe this, but I also had an 04 Mazda 6 before I got my 2010 Nox! I didn't trade mine in however..the dealers in my town are notorious for lowballing trade-ins so I sold it myself. The Nox certainly doesn't handle as well as the Mazda 6, but overall it's a better and more practical vehicle. The Equinox is my first ever GM vehicle (which qualified me for the $1k incentive) and I can say that I'm truly surprised that I like it as well or better than any of the import cars I've owned through the years.
Totaled out 95 Saturn SC2. I needed the room of the Equinox, and the mileage of the 4 cylinder.

If that was all that was wrong with your Grand Am, you had it good. They were cheap, built cheap and had cheap problems that were easy to fix aside from the LIM gasket.

We traded in a 09 Malibu LTZ, I4 and A6. Great car and only had one problem in the year we had it and we put 24k miles on it!!!!

You are right. We were fairly lucky to have so few problems with such a cheaply made car. We never did get the windows fixed, because the air conditioner worked fine and the local Pontiac dealer wanted $600 for each window (LOL).

That's cool that you also had a Mazda 6! I liked the car, but I wanted something bigger. What is the $1k incentive? Did I miss out on some $$$?

Shoot, those windows regulators were around $60 bucks online and about a few hours to replace. I should know, I replaced both in my 01 GA coupe as well.

Mine, for the most part, was a pretty dang decent car.

Maybe, it was an incentive for first time GM buyers ( I guess they search a vin # database for GM vehicles registered in your name) but I bought my 2010 Nox in early December 09 and they may have discontinued the program after Jan 1st. I also liked the Mazda 6 but started to have nagging issues almost immediately after the warranty was up...drivers power window quit, a/c compressor went out, tranny had random weirdness and assorted minor interior/exterior issues that shouldn't be happening on a 5-6 year old car that was maintained regularly and garaged at home.
Sold a 2004 Montana extended with leather and DVD to make room for Equinox

Fire red 2007 GMC Sierra SLE 4x4 with the 5.3L. No Z71 so I could get the quieter road tires. Had well over 50,000km when I got rid of it.

Sure miss that 315 horsepower in such a light truck... Not normally the vehicle I would buy (had extended cab F150 and several Jeep Cherokees before that) but man was that truck powerful!

I called it my 'quarter life crisis' mobile...
