2003 Pontiac Vibe, 5 speed stick. No problems at 100K miles. Miss the Manual tranny, but love the extra features, comfort, quietness, and looks of the Equinox LTZ. It's a keeper !
We had a POS 2000 Pontiac Grand Am. Both window assemblies needed to be replaced, since the little white plastic clips that held up the windows both broke within a week of each other. The dash was separating from the display panel, and there was noticeable rust on the passenger side door panel. It only had about 75,000 miles on it. We had sworn off GM, too. But, the newly redesigned Equinox had us changing our tune. And, so far, we love everything about it. Hopefully, the 'Nox gives us many, many years of enjoyment.nomad06 said:2002 Chev Impala, changed head gasket twice.Swore no more GM vehicles for us then saw the new Equinox. So we bought one and I really hope no more issues
If that was all that was wrong with your Grand Am, you had it good. They were cheap, built cheap and had cheap problems that were easy to fix aside from the LIM gasket.TheCrow1994 said:We had a POS 2000 Pontiac Grand Am. You are right. We were fairly lucky to have so few problems with such a cheaply made car. We never did get the windows fixed, because the air conditioner worked fine and the local Pontiac dealer wanted $600 for each window (LOL).bballr4567 said:If that was all that was wrong with your Grand Am, you had it good. We traded in a 09 Malibu LTZ, I4 and A6. Great car and only had one problem in the year we had it and we put 24k miles on it!!!!
That's cool that you also had a Mazda 6! I liked the car, but I wanted something bigger. What is the $1k incentive? Did I miss out on some $$$?NoobNox said:You're not going to believe this, but I also had an 04 Mazda 6 before I got my 2010 Nox! I didn't trade mine in however..the dealers in my town are notorious for lowballing trade-ins so I sold it myself. The Nox certainly doesn't handle as well as the Mazda 6, but overall it's a better and more practical vehicle. The Equinox is my first ever GM vehicle (which qualified me for the $1k incentive) and I can say that I'm truly surprised that I like it as well or better than any of the import cars I've owned through the years.
Shoot, those windows regulators were around $60 bucks online and about a few hours to replace. I should know, I replaced both in my 01 GA coupe as well.TheCrow1994 said:You are right. Maybe, it was an incentive for first time GM buyers ( I guess they search a vin # database for GM vehicles registered in your name) but I bought my 2010 Nox in early December 09 and they may have discontinued the program after Jan 1st. I also liked the Mazda 6 but started to have nagging issues almost immediately after the warranty was up...drivers power window quit, a/c compressor went out, tranny had random weirdness and assorted minor interior/exterior issues that shouldn't be happening on a 5-6 year old car that was maintained regularly and garaged at home.NateDC said:That's cool that you also had a Mazda 6!
