So on the 15th, I ordered a new 2011 i4 AWD LTZ in mocha steel with jet black/brownstone leather. I'm trading in my '04 Honda Element EX (which I never did really like) with almost 130K miles. I didn't opt for anything additional, and probably won't get anything else dealer installed. I'd like to add some husky floor liners and that's about it that I can think of.

What if anything else does everybody think I ought to get (Nothing silly or crazy).
Around here, the Nox sells decently, and I could have afforded more expensive cars, but I found myself comparing them to the Equinox and they were lacking. One dealer gave me a half-decent price on an order so I took it. Tried to get others to match and they told me nobody would be able to sell me a car at the price I asked (The price Dealer A gave me).

Also, just for giggles, what should something like that cost?

Having two LTZ's I would recommend getting the all weather floor mats. I like the fact that they hook onto exisiting post to keep in place, and they are more durable then the carpeted mats.

All I added on my wife's LTZ was the 'Husky Liner mats' and 'tinited' the front side glass. We may also get the 'Weathertech cargo liner' at some point.

I got LTZ too with Sunroof and 18 inch wheels (which I regret now, would have prefer softer ride of 17 - some people say it's noticeable and I would definitely feel it) - one thing I wish I had gotten are the mud flaps. When you place order you only pay for part but if you want to get them later you have to pay labor too unless you install them yourself.

My previous car didn't have mud flaps, but because the way Equinox is built, the front tires throw a lot of water/dirt towards the back when turning more than any other car I've owned so I plan to get them eventually.

I have started tracking and it's currently at:
04/26/2011 - (2500) Order preferenced. Order pulled to the production system.

I was going to get the whole pack of liners (rather than the mats, because I tend to be hard on cars, wear boots sometimes, etc) including the front, rear and cargo area. My element doesn't have mats, or carpeting, and I liked that, but cleaning it was a pain.

I ordered my 2011 FWD LTZ on 4/16 with everything on it. I had one that I was going to buy from one dealer but the sales manager called me something I was not happy about . I call off the deal on a Friday evening and placed an order the next day with another dealer (which was a $1,000 better the first one).
I have been in connected with my new sales person and he will let me know the order number soon so I can track the order. Does anyone know if the order and delivery time is still at 4 to 6 weeks for the Equinox?

When the sales manager first talk to me about my trade in, they where WAY under the price I was looking for (I was giving them the low end price). He then wanted me to go through his bank and I said no. He then said, “I could punch you right now. We are arguing over $200 and I am going to save you $500 on the loan.”
Then what push it over the top was when I was at my bank seating with girl who was processing my loan and she was requesting some more paper work for the underwriters. Again the sales manager told the girl; “Oh that idiot! I was arguing with me over $200….” He was on the speaker phone and the bank manager mouth drop. Once she hung up the phone I told the deal was off. It made it fun ride home from the back the afternoon. :angryfire:

Not only would I have driven my new car up to the dealer, I would have talked to the sales manager, told him why he lost a sale, and made sure to say it loudly enough that people on the showroom floor heard me. I would have also told as much to his manager or the owner.
What part of the country (or Canada, etc) are you in, so I can be sure I am avoiding that same dealer.

You must be from Canada. Out here, Hockey is an also ran sport, but I played in college, so it is near and dear to me (though I didn't watch this season due to time constraints and my team being disappointing)

Went to the dealer at 9:30 this morning to pick my Cyber Gray Equinox up. Signed the papers, handed over the $$, got the walk through.
I did have to stop the salesperson at one point though.. (she was fantastic by the by) when she started to go into the manual. Told her that I'd had a copy of it since I gave her my down payment. She laughed.
Made the introductory call to OnStar for the free 6 months. Deferred for a day or two the call on adding minutes to the OnStar number. Is it just me or are all of the OnStar Reps on happy pills..?!
All in all a great day.

I don't play anymore. I work too **** much (Systems Engineer) and have a young daughter. That and I'm getting too old at this point. What I do miss about hockey is that I could eat anything and not break 200lbs. I wish I was 200lbs again :-\.


So anybody know why I don't have a TPW at this point? I placed the order two weeks ago, I was not thinking it would go this fast, and said I was in no rush. Now, I want that car badly .

I live in the US; west of Chicago, IL. The dealer is Gjovik Chevy in Sandwich, IL that was :angryfire:. I would love to drive there but I think I said a lot to the sales person on the way home that night. I think once I receive my new nox, I going to do some type of posting and telling everyone about my happen, thanks for the suggestion. Now, I what to know where my order stands and if the built time is still on schedule (4 to 6 weeks).

Mark54g, I know the feeling. Thankfully most ice I get is 10pm or later. Certainly makes the post skate beer taste better.
Also gives me lots of time to get work done (I'm a network/systems guy). I tuck the kids in and head out..
Have to agree with the eating stuff as well. I'm sitting right at 200 now, about 15 more that I was when I got out of high school 25 years ago. I credit hockey w/ keeping things that way.
