Turn signals

Have they made turn signals an option? Its been 4 years since I bought a new car and my new Nox came with the little turn signal thingy on the left side of the steering column. Im guessing they have become an option in recent years. By my unofficial calculations the drivers I see in our area, only 41% of them bought them. I see that most semi trucks still buy them and use them. Just a pet peeve.

Say, whut?

The turn signals in my Nox are activated by an official handle to the left side of the steering wheel. That handle also functions as the lights control switch. I checked the equipment list and turn signals were not indicated under Standard Equipment or Options - I guess that means they are a default. Now on the left side of my steering wheel is the cruise control switches, IOW, built into the steering wheel.
