For those who had read my previous post about a month or so ago, my car was just repaired due to hitting a wallaby.
Unfortunately, I had my car back for 2 weeks...
Parked out the front of my sons school to go to a school meeting, the only car that was parked on the road...
To cut a long story short, a Learner driver with no passenger, on her phone, not doing the speed limit, and not watching where she was going, ran in to my back driver side rim, and officially, the car is written off
Luckily, I had only just walked away from my car and if I was any later getting out, I would probably not be writing this post, and I'm also greatful that the kids were also not in the car, because obviously that would be another story
The worst part is, she begged for the police not to be called, and when her husband turned up mysteriously 5 minutes later, he tried to take responsibility for it, lucky for him, there were witnesses to tell the story to the police of what actually happened.
To say I'm devastated, is an absolute understatement, it was a fun 3 years though, I'm now going through the process of insurance etc, and now looking for a potential replacement nox, have been toying with the idea of the LTV or LTZ-V, I'm test driving another LT tomorrow, a year older, only 35K on the odometer, and driven by an old man (so can assume it's going to be immaculate)
Damage was over $22,100, which was what the car was insured for, and structually, when the car went to go on to the tow truck, there was also oil leaking from underneath, I believe potentially it's the gear box, but everything underneath, was definitely broken
The chassis and all of that fun stuff, was all bent and warped, so the impact was pretty brutual on it :|
4 years old & only 70K on the odometer, and literally back on the road for 2 weeks.
^ Her final resting place, as you can see, plates are officially off, I miss out on keeping my racks though :'( She'll be going up for auction in the coming weeks :|
Probably my most favourite photo of my car - Taken a couple of days after getting it back - With an Aurora Australis in the background </3
