Now what? Wanted to complain about gas mileage . How?
True Delta does not take complaints, per say, but deals with reports of repair frequency to extrapolate reliability statistics. If you end up having something fixed to correct the bad gas mileage, then you can report the repair and they will add it to the database.

Hopefully you can get it solved. Our Equinox gets great mileage, when driven carefully (me driving) vs my wife!

This is largely correct, in that the stats only include successful repairs to clearly differentiate reliability issues from design issues.

But it is possible to report unrepaired problems. They are posted to the site, just not included in the stats.

Also note that we exclude pre-existing problems from the stats, to avoid a likely source of distortion.

New stuff this time. We've updated our reliability stats for the Terrain to include owner experiences through the end of 2014. Plus we've added reliability trends graphs. These indicate how a model's reliability has changed as it has aged, and how different model years performed when the same age.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2014 Terrain: 0, low
2013 Terrain: 22, low
2012 Terrain: 23, low
2011 Terrain: 38, moderate
2010 Terrain: 77, high

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2013 Terrain: 83, 2
2012 Terrain: 81, < 1
2011 Terrain: 75, 2
2010 Terrain: 64, < 1

We'll have further updates in May and in August. The more owners participate, the more comprehensive and precise these will be.

I've attached the new graph (for the Equinox, the samples are combined).

So, how have these cars been doing lately?

Our reliability stats for the Terrain now include owner experiences through March 31, 2015. (Others are nearly a year behind.)

In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year ("low" is best):

2014 Terrain: 0, low
2013 Terrain: 14, low
2012 Terrain: 23, low
2011 Terrain: 35, low
2010 Terrain: 94, high

Plus, the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2013 Terrain: 86, 2
2012 Terrain: 78, < 1
2011 Terrain: 75, < 1
2010 Terrain: 44, 2

Next updates in August and November. We especially need more 2014s and 2015s.

Our reliability stats for the Terrain now cover the year ending June 30, 2015. (Others are over a year behind, and so report how these cars were doing when a year younger.)

Repair trips per 100 cars:

2015 Terrain: 49, moderate, small sample size
2014 Terrain: 11, low
2013 Terrain: 18, low
2012 Terrain: 31, low
2011 Terrain: 49, moderate
2010 Terrain: 89, high

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2014 Terrain: 92, < 1
2013 Terrain: 84, 2
2012 Terrain: 74, < 1
2011 Terrain: 66, 2
2010 Terrain: 53, 6

Additional participants especially needed for the 2015 and up.

I bought my 2010 3.0 Terrain with 32K miles. It was a one owner car. 3 years later I have just passed 127,000 miles and the only major mechanical jobs I had to complete was:
  • Replace Throttle Body, Clean Fuel Lines, Decarbonize..something (sorry I forgot what it's called) = $1,100, this was all done at once. Which caused the "Reduced Engine Power" warning message and driving ability
I maintenance the oil changes with Royal Purple and the higher-end oil filters. I did have a k&n air filter, but I just went back to OEM filters (fram).

Good luck on your choice.

2013 Terrain: 20, low
2012 Terrain: 29, low
2011 Terrain: 60, moderate
2010 Terrain: 85, high

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2015 Terrain: 87, < 1
2014 Terrain: 84, < 1
2013 Terrain: 81, < 1
2011 Terrain: 53, 6
2010 Terrain: 56, 14
