I am curious whether the color & or the spec. of a Terrain one has sitting in the 1100 queue determines when it starts to move along??

Anyone have an intimate knowledge of GMC's production scheduling parameters??

35 years ago I was in a assembly plant production scheduling unit & if we had orders for 10 black & 2 red & a blue of a particular model - the black went down the line 1st , then the red, then the blue - regardless of when the order was received.

This was because there was 1 paint shop & it was more efficient to load the black paint & spray them all in in a run than chop & change colors.

I wonder what they do these days & if you order a low popularity color if you get shuttled back until they have a trigger quantity to put them through the paint shop??

I spent 35 years in high volume manufacturing and I can assure you, today's auto manufactures DO NOT schedule their factories by clumping colors together. A tour of the Corvette factory in Bowling Green, Ky will quickly verify this fact, it's an oddity to even see 2 vettes of the same color end to end going down this assembly line.
