i know we are barely entering the 2011 production, but here's a questino for y'all
how many years do you expect the current terrain to be in production, (without major cosmetic/mechanical changes)

what i mean by major changes would be non-interchangable parts... like if the new hood/fender of the 2012 terrain cannot be a direct replacement to the 10-11 terrains...

i'm asking this question because i'm planning to get my terrain mid 2011 production (next summer)... and might have to reconsider this option if GMC freshen up the design for 2012....

Wont be changed until at least 2014 MY. Which means 2013 at the earliest. I think there might be at most an interior color introduced during that time but not much else.

I wouldn't expect anything more than a few minor cosmetic changes (interior and exterior) in the next couple of model years...and maybe some major sheetmetal reworking for 2015. Of course all this is just speculation, and could change if Ford releases an all new Escape in the next couple years...and it turns out to be popular enough to hurt sales of GM's stable of CUV's..

I think the new Edge is out already 2011. http://www.fordvehicles.com/crossovers/edge/ The RAV4 I believe is getting an update soon. The Sorrento is competition and don't forget the CR-V.

Yeah there is plenty of competition in the segment, but I was just using the Escape as an example since it was/is so popular that the basic platform has lasted over 10 years. It feels dated compared to newer CUV's like the Terrain/Nox, but Ford has been making winners lately and could easily make a very good Escape replacement..

edit- I know the Edge is technically a competitor, but the base price is in the SRX range and goes up rapidly when you start equipping them..
