Does anybody know how to override the SRX navigation destination data entry? I can't type in destination information once the car is going over 5mph. When we are on a trip, I want the passenger to be able to look up destinations or enter addresses, without using the cumbersome voice entry method, which doesn't work at all well with general destinations, like specific searches for hotels, restaurants, etc.. A GM exec told me somebody online had a method around this, but he wouldn't tell me what it was. My Excursion nav system had a simple orange wire that had to be grounded in order to by-pass the lock-out.

You can thank the corporate lawyers for the inability to program on the fly. This is true with almost every factory nav on the market. There are "lock picks" available to allow what you want but I don't know if they are available for your particular unit. You may want to post in the SRX section and see if anyone over there might know.
