2011 2.4L 120000 miles.
In park, reverse, neutral it sounds normal, put it in drive, sounds like a hole opens in the exhaust..
I can't see the manifold, but the pipe, cat and muffler are good.
No codes or driving problems.
What would engage in drive only?

Since the engine 'twists' everything in the other direction in drive, it could be pulling one of the flex joints apart.

Try putting it in drive and standing on the brakes, rev it up a bit, see if it gets even louder.

A cracked exhaust manifold could be your problem.
Many posters on the forum with the 2.4L had this problem, some more than once.
