2018 Equinox, FWD, 1.5 L, Premier, 68,000 miles

I'll start with a thanks to all who post and reply to this forum. I am a long time reader and have found most everything I wanted to know has been previously asked and replied. That being said I need to replace the right rear wheel hub due to humming, strumming and generally noisy. I was rear ended (about a 45 degree angle) in December and the majority of the impact was the right rear wheel, rim, axle. It was pushed forward by about 4". Most all of the damage (about 8K) was to the hard parts underneath and only minimal (About 4K) to the rear quarter panel. The car was repaired by a certified Chevy collision center and they replaced with new parts the rear subframe, a arms, etc including new tire and rim. The hub was not repalced as it passed inspection at that time. I have about 2500 miles since the repair. A new GM hub is about $70-90 and my labor is free.

Now the questions. Chevy shows two part numbers with one (13507356) superseding (according to gmpartsdirect) the old one (13547479) . Rockauto only shows the superseded part (13547479) for the FWD. My thought is that there must have been an improvement or something to the part. The new part is on supply chain backorder from my local chevy dealer. Anyways, does anyone have thoughts on just ordering the old number from Rock Auto?

Also, do y'all have any thoughts on replacing the hub bolts from the impact? The part number, 11546706, is a special order bolt from chevy.

Lastly, does anyone have access to a manual that shows the torque setting for the bolts. i found an old thread here for a much older model and it was 52 ft lbs.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Looks like the "old" part is ACDelco ($64). I would buy it from RockAuto ... sure!

On my 2011 V6 it's 74 ft-lbs of Torque on the Hub bolts, BTW.

Strangely ... I replaced a front Hub on my 2002 Impala and the Helm (Shop) Manual clearly stated to replace the Hub Bolts and the Axle Nut with new parts. BTW, on the Impala, the Bolts were Torqued to 96 ft-lbs.

Now ... looking in the Helm Manual for my 2011 Equinox, it makes no mention of needing to replace the Hub Bolts! It just says to clean the threads, apply thread locker, wait 10 minutes for it to set, and re-use the Bolts! It does say to replace the Drive Shaft Nut, though! I guess they always want you to replace that!

I think in your case ... since the vehicle actually took a hit in the wheel ... you should probably replace the Bolts (and maybe order the new Axle Nut at the same time!). Hmmm ... RockAuto doesn't appear to have the Bolts and Axle Nut for your vehicle (unless you want to pay $161 for a whole box of them) ...

The Rock Auto part is the current # and supersedes the other one. Depending on which parts website you use for chevy parts the numbers are flipped for the superseded part. The hub bolts are ordered from Chevy and are about 7-10 plus days out.
