Has anyone removed the factory roof rails? The owners manual seems to be void of any information about removing them. It looks like you slide them all the way back to remove them, but at the back is a piece of plastic with two arrows on it. It looks like it should pop out, but I haven't been able to get it to move. Of course I didn't apply to much pressure because I didn't want to break it.

Any thoughts?

Any thoughts ??? Yes. Your crazy!! I'm shocked at how many people want to take out add modify after buying a new beautiful car. I have read about adding the factory nav after buying and all the parts and cost. The headlights where tape is needed. So what does one sonic they remove roof rails.

A word for those who want to keep their warranty, leave your car alone and enjoy it or order one the way you like it !!!

Not sure what the OP is asking either, NY Joe.
Would be nice if we could get jbsails back to us.

jbsails does mention factory roof rails, so I was kinda under the impression we were talking the side rails as well, since I think the cross rails are an add-on, not factory installed.
Well in our case, anyway, we had to buy the cross rails afterward, so maybe you can get them installed at the factory.

In that case, your link has good info on how to install/remove the "cross rails".
Maybe jbsails saw your link, removed the "cross rails" and is having fun driving, not reading forums LOL!

Sorry I've been on vacation! I'm just taking the cross bars off, not the rails attached to the car. Thanks NY Joe your tutorial was spot on and very helpful.

I've attached a Thule rack on to the factory rails and want to take off the factory cross bars because with both rails on it makes a lot of noise.

Glad to hear it worked out and thanks for posting back, jbsails!
You wouldn't have been "sailing" on your vacation by any chance?
;)
