Driving along on the highway out of nowhere one huge "boom" then another softer boom. All the glass shattered

That is unfortunate but it does happen on occasion. I've seen/heard liftgate glass shatter on vehicles just sitting still in parking lots. I see in the pictures that you have a bike inside. Is it possible a load was placed on the glass from the handle bars? seems like a possibility from the pictures.

The bike doesn't touch the glass i have pool noodles as a cushion to the bike so it doesn't mess up carbon parts and my bar tape.

The bike wasn't in the car when it happened. I was picking it up from the mechanic

I learned a long time ago in a GE course, that the first person to blame is whoever touched it last ! Not always true, but best place to start looking

Fixed glass, rear and non-opening side glass along with windshields can break due to thermal stress.
It happens, not often, but it does happen. Comprehensive insurance is cheap and I always cover my vehicles, even beaters.

Well, well, well... it happened to my 15 Nox on Nov 5th, 2022. $330 CAD to replace. Ouch.
No warning what so ever. Just boom... and saw the wallet flew out the back end of the vehicle.🙁
