Has anyone installed an LED strip inside the rear window, facing out, to supplant the back-up lights? Where I usually park, it is very dark and the standard reverse lights do not illuminate the area enough for the back-up camera to really be useful.
I was thinking of an skinny LED Strip at the top of the rear window, facing back at the proper angle. I know it's a bit of a custom thing, but I like playing around with stuff like this.

I had the same issue with my Colorado, Diode Dynamics has plug and play replacement LED backup bulbs, that made a big difference for lighting when in reverse I suggest the mid and higher price options of the three. They also have a 2" trailer hitch light that simply goes into the hitch receiver.

Some LEDs affect the camera staying on, some don't. No issues in my '16 'nox and my '11 Tahoe. Cheapo Amazon Alla bulbs in them.
One side effect is the brightness of the LED's wash out some of the camera's night vision though.
