I see the manual states that the power liftgate contains
electronic protection if it encounters an obstacle.
Does anyone have specifics on how this works? There are
no ultrasonic sensors on the gate and when I opened it in
the garage it seemed more than happy to slam into the
garage door without stopping. I grabbed it and force it to
stop before hitting the door.
I am thinking that there is a torque sensor on the drive
motor that senses a stall when the liftgate hits something.
Not good if you want to protect the paint job. Too late
after it hits something.
Anyone have any more info?
