First post here.

My wife and I picked up a carbon black SLT-1 2.4L AWD 2 weeks ago. This will be our family vehicle and we hope to run it into the ground. I drive an 08 GMC Sierra 2500 with the duramax and she drives not only the terrain but also a pontiac solstice. We purchased the vehicle for not only its design but also for the AWD aspect with new england winters, the mpg rating and its safety rating.

Between city/highway driving, we're averaging 21.7 mpg which I feel is pretty good for a non-hybrid SUV. Our first road trip (130 miles round trip) was to the cape this past weekend. I kept the speeds below 70 and the A/C off (I noticed the A/C steals a bit of power on these 4 cylinders) and we averaged 28.3 mpg with mostly highway driving.

what year?

Also, I have the Carbon black..I really didnt want black at first, but the carbon black metallic is really sharp!! congrats!
2011. I come from a GM family. This time around, we looked at several other makes including the Ford Edge, Subaru Forester, VW Tiguan and the audi A3. For the price and the amount of options, the Terrain was a better deal.

I love black. It's my favorite color. Hard to keep clean but the best looking when clean.
The mileage really isn't that bad considering what other suv's in our class are getting. I'm averaging 24/25 with mixed driving and that's right in line with what other manufactures are getting. The hyundai tucson is averaging 22mpg per motortrend.

Had this discussion with the wife, and my final (and winning) argument was: "What colour is the batmobile?.....I rest my case", lol

btw, getting great mpg from my 2011 I4 FWD Equinox. About 3000KM in and gettin 8.5L/100KM (~26mpg)
