Painted Calipers

When I was switching over to my Summer tires, I noticed that the calipers were starting to show a little age - although not really that bad. I scrubbed them with a nylon brush and then brushed on a coat of Rustoleum Silver Mettalic. I know - everyone says that you need to either powder coat them, ot use a high temp paint, but I have been doing this for 10+ years, and it only takes about 10 minutes to do it, and it will easily hold up until the next tire changeover. Plus, I had the paint on the shelf, so the cost was $0.00 It DOES hold up very well to the heat.

Just another project for you to fill your time !

Doing the same to the Eqinox and have done last 10ys when i change tires back to summer. Like u i just use Tremclad rust paint that's been sitting on shelf so cost is 0.00 and 15 minutes of my time. Find it holds up just fine....may splurge and spend the $10.00 to go yellow or maybe blue for the illusion of high end brakes on the beast...........
Recently I saw a 2011 Camaro...

anyway the owner had installed an aftermarket brake kit...

The one item that intrigued me though...he had the calipers painted body color...

I don't see the NOX/Terrain as "SS" material so red/yellow might be a tad extreme
but I have given thought to matching body color (mocha)

but the Silver certainly is a nice touch...

Oh i think theres possabity for nox being ss material..........the painted blue / yellow calipers may be extreame but it safes me having to go to mall by bus cause wife cant find truck in parking lot.........typical woman....never thinks of pushing panic button on key fob........OR look at lic plates.........so extreame calipers may help with not being disturbed as i watch hockey game / nascar..LOL
Ive got a black equinox, black aftermarket 5 spoke wheels, and red calipers.....silver would look awesome!! just make sure you keep them clean

also i think body color calipers look really nice, white car with white calipers = something different to look at it, ill post pictures up as soon as it stops raining here in nj!! ;D
Tommorows to do list...

1. Install trailer hitch.
2. Paint brake callipers white ;D

Not bad at all with ceramic pads. I have them on my vette. Just keep a fresh coat of Rejex on them and dirt rinses right off. ;D
