OnStar just updated the RemoteLink iPhone App to support searching for a destination and downloading it to your vehicle. Works pretty well so far with the standard radio (I do not have the Nav system). You will need a Directions & Connections contract to support this feature.

Nice work OnStar.

Used eNav via OnStar RemoteLink App for first time today; way cool. Looked-up destination via App (Bing search default), sent destination to vehicle, turned-on 'Nox and turn-by-turn was ready at start-up. Between this upgrade and other Virtual Advisor features, I'm finding fewer and fewer reasons to engage 'live' On-Star support. Win-win for me as that support is (for me, at least) hit/miss. Recent trip to San Diego and OnStar couldn't direct me to a popular restaurant; I pulled-out my iPhone, both Yelp(ed) and Google mapped it, then I gave OnStar the directions to download to my car. In less than 45-seconds. Sheesh. At least the rep addressed me by name and wished me a nice weekend ;-)

AZ - I would agree with you on the advisors and destinations. Biggest issue for me is getting to give me a location that is on our route. For example I needed an In and Out Burger south of my present location. So what do they send? Yup a location 15 miles behind us. Sheesh.

Spent today playing with it too. It was daddy and son day while mommy worked. Our 21 month likes mimicing the beeps and saying good bye to the mysterious voice.

Love the new feature! And now that I don't even need to manually engage Virtual Advisor and say that I want the destination I just saved, it's that much easier. Count me in for not liking to deal with the live OnStar advisors - I find most of them to be incompetent and I can find whatever I'm looking for much quicker with a simple search on my iPhone.

Arizona......after Yelping the locale, did you manually or verbally give the info to Remotelink.....or is there a direct digital route?

Spirit,

RemoteLink wasn't in use; I was talking to OnStar, used both Yelp and Google Maps to find desired restaurant (out of frustration that OnStar couldn't find it) then I gave OnStar the restaurant's addy [while still connected to Advisor] to send to my car. Kind of convoluted. Come to think of it, kind of like OnStar.

Hope this answers your question.

Ah hah....I got it now......I'm loving the RemoteLink......one could use Yelp to lookup, and then just say the address in Remote Link and bypass calling Onstar....I'm lovin Remote link cause I can pick my destination in the house and have it handy moments after starting up!....and the tire pressure and gas readouts too....

Must update your phone to 4.0 software though.... I have a (probably irrational) fear that if I update my phones software it will mess it up, and somehow in the process I will lose all of my contacts/photos/apps. I know many people that it happened to, so I'd rather just leave it be for now, lol.

But I bet it's still awesome. And I'm missing out on all of the awesomeness. :'(

RemoteLink as far as I know is available on all models. Are you maybe thinking Intellilink? Intellilink is a radio upgrade feature that will be available around spring 2012.

Hi, I'm helping Tricia out with this forum while she's away for a short time!

Newbienox2012, I checked my resources and found that the 2012 Equinox indeed does have the myChevrolet app with the connectivity of OnStar RemoteLink available.

I also wanted to confirm what JediSkipdogg mentioned above: The 2012 Equinox with Chevrolet MyLink Touch Radio start retail production is the end of this month, which means these vehicles will be available in Spring 2012. Initially, it will only be available on the LTZ with V6 and expanded to other trim levels.

Hope this helps,

Katie

To use the Navigation Tab you must be enrolled in directions and connnections. I am not, so it doesn't work for me, but I do like the other features. I have a nav radio and don't need to spend extra for directions and connections.

Will your '12 have Nav?

If so, I don't think Intellilink is available on vehicles with a Nav system. As far as I know, It's 1 or the other.

This is what I know - going by the Canada build and price web.
In order to have the Rear Seat Entertainment package - you are required to have the AM/FM/XM stereo w/colour Touch & Navigation.
You cannot have the AM/FM Stereo w/colour Touch.

So to clarify - which radio has the Intellilink? The AM/FM Stereo w/colour Touch - only?
If that is true, then in order to have the Intellilink radio - you cannot have the rear Entertainment system - that must also be true.

If either of you could verify, that would be swell - as my Sales rep at my dealer inform me back in Nov. that I could have both the Intellilink and the Navi. Loaded right up would have everything.

I can see a fight brewing if what you say is correct.

Please advise, my dealership is closed now so I have to wait till morning.[/color]

ANd they just last week started accepting ORDERS for the radio (again.) Therefore none will hit the lots for at least 6-10 weeks. Nothing on the lots currently will have it.

Here's the info from GM...

Effective 1/2/2012, the following changes will be made to the Vehicle Order Guide:

Interior section-Added (UP9) Chevrolet MyLink, includes personal cell phone connectivity to vehicle audio system, HMI (Human Machine Interface), phonebook access, voice recognition for audio, phone, phonebook and music selection; Pandora and Stitcher smartphone compatible, SiriusXM weather and data service, software Bluetooth and smartphone. It is "A" on 1LZ with a footnote 1 that reads "Requires (UFU) AM/FM/SiriusXM stereo with CD player and MP3 playback capability and (LFW) 3.0L DOHC V6 SIDI engine." Also, it is "--" on 1LS, 1LT and 2LT.

It's the same for Intellilink on the Terrain.

Basically you have to have the SLT-2 Terrain or 1LZ Equinox, the V6 engine, and the NON-Nav radio. Don't expect to see too many on the lot.
