oil leaks anyone?

I have a 2010 Terrain 4cyl fwd with 15000 on it. Had it a year and it's been very good. I just noticed about 10 drops of oil on my garage floor around the front center of the car directly under the engine.

Has anyone noticed oil or transmission leaks in their Terrain?

Thanks,

can you tell where its from---- timing chain cover? oil pan? oil filter? valve cover?
Nope, from the top side, it looks ok. They are small nickle sized spots. Looks like I'll have to take it in to the dealer for a check. I've had 3 oil changes since I've had the Terrain, including one with synthetic oil. From now on, I'm planning on sticking to regular oil because I change it every 3 or 4 thousand miles anyway.

I couldn't see much from my viewpoint trying to look under the car though.

when was the last time you had the oil changed. Could be that the gasket on your drain plug was damaged, or worn, and just not sealing properly?
Oil was changed about 3000 ago. 3rd time since I've had it. It didn't look like the drain plug. I'll have to take a better look. It's about due for another oil change in a hundred miles or so. I'll let the dealer check it out. This is the only thing I've found in a year, good car.
good call, let us know what it was, shouldn't be anything serious in my opinion.
Bought a 2010 Equinox with 96K miles in October 2013. Car Fax says a former fleet vehicle. In December (98K miles) I was driving home and noticed engine noise and within several miles got the "Lo Oil Stop Engine" light. I immediately pulled over and discovered no oil on the dipstick, a puddle and a trail of oil behind the car. Towed it to the dealer who diagnosed a failed rear main seal. They repaired it under warranty. Its January and 101K miles and I experience the same engine noise and as I pull into my driveway, again "Lo Oil Stop Engine" warning and a trail of oil. It's at the dealer again waiting for them to tear it down to find the problem. What would cause the same failure in such a short time.? Anyone else experience this? What damage could be happening to the engine as the oil (not so) slowly purges? Will post the second diagnosis.

I just had an oil change yesterday (44k miles) and the mechanic pointed out to me about the oil leak when it was on the lift. It's the classic of sweating and dirty around the area right at the crack between the engine and transmission (to the right of the seam, totally on the transmission side). He said the rear seal is probably leaking and I have to see the dealer soon. I will have to find time to bring it in the next few weeks. I always change the oil at around 4k with synthetic.
