noise from exhaust

I have a 4cyl. 2011 slt... I have a pinging noise coming from the exhaust pipe.. notice it when sitting at a light or idle.. at first I though an acorn hit my car, it sounds the same, but then I noticed its coming from under the car area... I have 3000 miles on my truck, I know there is some noise from a new vehicle, metal exhaust pipe getting hot and cold etc... but this is very annoying and it doesnt seem to be going away.. anyone else have this issue?

It might be the heat shield on top of the cat converter.
On some models there is a tack weld on the front of the shield and a strap on the rear.
I haven't looked yet to see if the NOX has this setup but it would be a place to start and
have a look. If there is a tack weld between the cat converter case and the heat shield and
the tack has failed...it is more than likely to cause a rattle.

Not saying this is your issue...but it's possible.

Congratulations on your purchase. I would recommend contacting your local dealership if you feel that this is the result of some kind of issue. I would also be happy to look into this for you. In order to do so, I will need your VIN sent to me via private message. Thank you in advance.
