I'm looking to get new shoes for my Terrain on tirerack.com, but don't want to pay the additional $220 for their TPMS sensors. Has anyone re-used the stock sensors on after-market rims? Thanks.

Yes - but you have to make sure that they are "compatible" with your aftermarket rims. They may not fit all of them.

When I had my new shoes put on they didn't charge me for the TPMS. They used the same ones and replaced the valve stem. Whomever told you $220 is trying to stick it to you IMHO.

My shoes are 17". The bolt pattern is 5x120mm.

I reused my TPMS sensors with new valve stems. No problems at all.

Ordered my new rims from Wheels Next; no problem with the factory TPMS. Now if I can only get rid of the factory rims. Got them 4 sale in Marketplace thread.
