What was the problem with the clock and GPS? Please explain. Thanks.
Are you talking about this one...which has been out for about 6 months now?gasman said:Just bought my terrain in for the second time to have the clock and gps fixed. The service rep said they just got new software in to correct the problem and showed me the bulletin. just some f.y.i. Thanks. I have the 6 cylinder terrain loaded.
This appears to be a service bulletin. This is something for the service technicians at the dealership. It does not mean that this is covered. It also is not necessary to have this done if you are not experiencing these concerns. If you are experiencing a concern, I would recommend contacting your local dealership for more assistance. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.anzac said:is this a free update? or do i need to have one of the problems listed?
Why "FIX" something that isn't broke???anzac said:is this a free update? or do i need to have one of the problems listed?

The pairing routine would abort as soon as it said to search on the phone for a new Bluetooth device. I had dealer upgrade the radio per PI0285. That fixed the Bluetooth problem, but now I have new problems. My GPS resets to Washington DC each time I turn off the ignition, exit the car and reenter the car again. This was a problem PI0285 was supposed to fix, and occurred intermittently before the upgrade. Now it happens every time. In addition, now when turning off the ignition temporarily, as when stopping for gas, upon restarting the car the GPS remembers that it had a route planned, but the route is lost. No routing instructions are given and the driver's information panel says No Route Planned. If the route is re-planned, the GPS asks if I want to add the new way-point. The lost route has to be cancelled and then re-planned. Could it be that the dealer installed an old version of the PI0285 software or could it be that there are new problems that have not been resolved yet? How can I find out if I have an old version of the upgrade? If there is no newer version, how do I notify GM of the problem so they can work on a fix? Are other fixes available?
Thanks in advance.
David
I would be happy to look into this for you. Please contact me privately with more information. Thank you.johns4949 said:PI0285 Had this updates in my 2010 Equinox 3 times now. It works for 6 months then goes back to the previous problems with the navigation system, even having the entire nav head unit replaced.

The most recent visit (yesterday) they were "Gracious" enough to do the reprogramming for free as I'm 1400 miles out of the factory warranty. Even after the Service Manager handling the case because of the number of repeat visits for the same issue promised to resolve things, I get home and still have the same issues. :angryfire:
- I can change the clock hours/minutes but after 10 minutes of the key being removed from the ignition it reverts ... very annoying my cell phone & dash time are off by 3 minutes :help:
- Nav > Address Entry - I have to agree to the safety/GM C.Y.A. note EVERYTIME I enter GPS. Also, I have to clear Washington D.C. out of the state field EVERYTIME. :help:
I think its time to switch to a Ford!
