Hello Everyone,

We're proud to announce that the new site look and feel has been completed for this site! Our designers and software engineers have been hard at work on this for several months. It's designed to modernize the site, make it easier to use, and to make it more attractive to new members and guests that visit .

The forum software we use, vBulletin, by default is not designed to be friendly to the eyes or to look modern. We went down to the nuts and bolts of the forum software and templates, and have done a ground up approach. There are several things you will notice now that the new design is live.

1) The site should be significantly faster.

We have applied every modern technique to speed up page load and tested with all modern browsers. We want the forum to be extremely fast and easy to use.

2) The site will work much better in mobile and tablet views

We've started applying responsive design, and have designed and tested against android and iPhone devices, Android tablets, and iPads. If you are sitting at your desk or on your couch, or just on your phone, the site will work much better than it did before, and load fast. We are still working on improving the experience even further in the months to come, but we wanted to launch this as quickly as we could.

3) The homepage is bright, crisp and clean.

We wanted the first page users saw to look beautiful, so that when a new guest arrives and is debating whether to join The site they see a beautiful doorway, and they walk right in.

4) Garages will be featured on the site

You can show off your Theta, You can post pictures in your garage and share it with others. Make sure you post up some images to share with the community at the link below.in your Garage at the top of the page on the tool bar.

5) Users will be able to register with Facebook

6) The side bar can be hidden in your user options.

Click on my profile / user cp at the top right.

- click on edit your details on the left.
- Look for Show Sidebar on Forum Pages under Additional Information.
- Click disable and save.

7) Another new great feature is the @Mention user plugin. You can tag members by simply using the @ symbol.

8) Drag and Drop image uploader

We hope you enjoy it, and if you have any questions on the design, please let us know, feedback is appreciated.

If there are any issues you see. Post them up here and we will get them worked out.

Thanks,
Jeff M

Two things that come to mind...

How about the timestamps on the posts? Whenever I posted something with the previous software, my timestamp would only be correct (by timezone) when I was logged in. If I came back to the site later and *didn't* log in, the timestamp on my post would show PCT (I believe it was). The site seemed to be forgetting the original timezone the post was created in.

Also, can you convert *text between asterisks* automatically to italics? I've seen this feature on other boards. Maybe it's just an option that needs to be enabled? I use this for emphasis, but it's more readable when it's simply italics (without the asterisks). However, I find it's easier to enter initially by just typing the asterisks (as opposed to highlighting and clicking the "I" button ... which I'm not sure you can even *do* on a cell phone).

How do I change the theme? This white/gray/maroon is too bright for my liking. Looking for more of a "night mode" theme.

Also, is that a Trax in the header?

@Colt Hero

You can adjust your time zone in the User CP hand then it should stick.

Not sure about cell but on desktop you can use the BB codes above:
Italics
Underline
Bold

Etc...

@jhubbz86

You can play around with some settings in the User CP, however, there is not a dark theme or view.

Each URL should have a different Banner matching the name:
- terrainforum.net
- srxforum.net
- Equinoxforum.net

I welcome the change and like what I see so far. Thank you. I do wish you showcased the previous generation models in the banner, but I understand that may be counter progressive.

Thanks for the feedback @JVee-511

With the new models coming out they wanted to try and bring some new users on board with the newer images.

We can work on a Ride of the Month contest for the homepage.

Why must a person log-in before being permitted to view "Today's Posts"?

Why does the forum still block a logged-in member from reading a post until they accept or decline the warning box to download an app (that I don't want)?

@1999 White C5 Coupe

News Posts are based upon last login so it is needed to view. The site will show way fewer ads when logged in also.

Can you get me a screen shot of the pop or ad for the App.

Yeah, I knew that. I had already set my time zone on the old forum and it would only time stamp properly when I was logged in. But once I logged out and viewed my post, it would change the time stamp as PCT. So I'd enter a post at 7:00 EST and it would show up as 4:00 EST to everyone else.

But it appears the problem is fixed in this new version. Just posted, logged out, and viewed my post, and it still showed the correct EST time when I entered it! Yippee!

As for the italics, I see how it works now. Of course, you can highlight and use the buttons above, but you can also type the markers in manually (eg: typing the formatting sequence "[-I-]" before italics and "[-/-I-]" (without the dashes in between), will show "italics" in italics). My question is: can you make the asterisk work the same way (eg: *italics*)? Maybe it's a script that sees "*" on either side of a word and converts it to " and ""??

And you can type this manually, too? italics??

Just noticed something else:

Administrator has set a parameter to only allow edits to posts for 10 minutes after original posting. Why? That seems kind of tight. What's wrong with bumping that up to at *least* one hour??

We can change that setting, I will bump it out to 24 hours.

Should be updated now.
