I want to install a theft deterrent "fake" alarm system led and don't want to lose my time searching for power/acc/ground wires in the onstar bunch of wires.

Do you know there is a red LED that flashes when the vehicle is locked up? It's in the little dome in the centre of the dash.

Yes i know, but did you notice that the led is positioned to be seen from the inside of the vehicule and that it is really small and not very bright.

OK gotcha. Just making sure you knew there already was an LED.

yes theres a LED there already but in terms of anti theft almost all GM cars have that there. the second LED somewhere else is a great idea IMO.
