Need help with remote start

So I had a Avital Avistart 4003 installed today and we can't seem to get the "trigger" for the vehicle to start. You just push unlock 3 times to start and lock 3 times to stop. It seems like the voltage only drops from 12v to 11v when you unlock and this isnt enough to trigger start up. Any Ideas?
