I'm new to Nav systems in vehicles - go it in my new 2001 terrain.

Question: Do all car makers have it so the radio comes on when you hit the NAV button? I'l like to just have the Nav system voice prompting me as I drive to a destination without the radio being on. Annoying.

You can turn the radio off while using the nav. See your owners manual. On my Chrysler 300 there is a seperate button for the radio on/off

I'm sure someone will chime in with specifics.
