I'm wondering if anybody had any success with installing an aftermarket nav system in lieu of the standard factory receiver. I feel like the $2100 pricetag for the OEM nav system is a ripoff and I'd like to hear if anybody has any comments on that and any positive experience with another system. Thanks

Unfortunately, These have a brand new center console not shared with previous model vehicles like most recent GM products. So there's a much smaller pool of owners that would have potential experience replacing it with an aftermarket nav system. Still, it's only a matter of time!

SnowItch--How about some detail on how the Nav system works for you. What you like and what you don't. I've got the Nav in the Terrain I should get in January and am interested in your thoughts--and others--who have the system.

Thanks SnowItch--That's a comprehensive review! Have you used traffic and/or weather data from XM? I understand it is part of the free 3 month activation when you purchase the vehicle. I love the split screen feature as well. Have it on my 5 Series BMW and virtually never go to singlescreen for Navi or media anymore. I guess the backup camera works pretty well on the screen too from what I've heard. Thanks for the input and if anyone else has anything to say on the Nav----feel free.

Hi SnowItch! Great review!! I am going to pick-up my new Terrain AWD-SLT-2 with Nav/DVD Entertainment on Saturday. I downloaded the Terrain manual but there isn't anything in there about the Nav system. Does it come with a different manual?

I have a 2010 Nox,& you can watch a dvd on the Nav system when the vehicle
is in the park position.even with out having the rear dvd system.very nice when you are parked.

OK I did not even get my Terrain(order from factory) but wanted to know more about the audio system and the usb port etc..Can u download music to the system either with your ipod or a memstick(sandisk) usb port to the system..Is it audio enhanced where you can say the song,artist or album and it will play..I really know nothing about the system..

Also HandsFree dialing and talking thru system?? My rav4 HandsFree sucked..Staticy ppl told me when trying to talk to me..It might depend on the cell someone said..I have a LG Dare..Any help or response in any of these 2 areas would be greatly appreciated...Thanks
