NAV Caution Screen

How often does your NAV system display the caution screen and require hitting the OK button? Up until this weekend the caution screen would only come up once in a long while, maybe once per month. There didn't seem to be any reason for why it occassionally pops up. However, over the past weekend till now the caution display comes up every time the Terrain is started. Our Terrain has about 11K miles. Any ideas?

I would be happy to look into this for you as well. In order to do more research, I will need the VIN for the vehicle. Please feel free to contact me via private message as well. Thank you.

Tricia, GM Customer Service.
David, mine has been doing that alot also.

Another issue that arises when this happens is that is resets the state, always to Washington DC for some reason. So I have to change it to Nevada, the current state I am working in.
Me too and also the **** Washington DC not Illinois. We taxpayers have enough problems from Washington without it being shoved in our faces every time we get in our cars.

Anybody in Washington that has Illinois come up? - - I'll trade you. ;D
On this site I found software update PIO285 issued 11/4/2010 which is to correct many inconsistent conditions for the NAV system, backup camera, audio playback, etc. and the problem I described with the caution or "I Agree" screen.

Merchdawg & GARYD-it also specifically mentions the resetting to Washington DC on every ignition cycle. The update applies to the 2010-2011 Terrain and 'Nox, as well as other GM vehicles.

When my Terrain is due for an oil change I'll have my dealer apply the update.

Bingo... someone (Mochanox?) posted the list again recently. And it was quite a long list. Apparently quite fixable with a USB firmware/software update. I experience a couple of issues... HVAC screen not cancelling, intermittent (twice in a year) blank backup cam screen but I haven't been back to the dealership since I bought it so I see no need to get the update.
I found the thread again. Thanks to Mochanox for the post.

As follow-up to my original post, I had TSB PI0285 performed yesterday. Besides the Caution Screen approval problem, the NAV was also resetting to Washington DC like a few others have said. Checking the NAV application version numbers in Configuration, the old version was U40D and the new version is U413. The database version remains the same at 20.09.03.

All I had done at the dealer yesterday was an oil change and this TSB. I gave them the TSB number and description. I arrived at 8:45AM and left about 11:15AM. I was becoming very frustrated towards the end with the long time this was taking. According to the service advisor, this was a very large download which took a long time. Or maybe they were just short on techs.

So far the NAV seems to be operating correctly.
I have a 2010 Terrain and was having those issues and more not just with NAV system but Pioneer stereo system also..It took me 3 hrs to get the Update at the dealers but it has been working great ever since I had it done..Its been over a month now and no issues(knocking on wood)
Finally found time to get my car into the dealership to get the update done along with a few other issues that I wanted looked at before my warranty runs out.

I told them exactly what was happening along with the TSB #. Apparently they didn't think it was an issue since all they did was test it, probably just turning the ignition to see if it reset when they did it, and then listed it as no problem found.

So my car sat at the dealership from 8am until just after 5pm and they didn't resolve the issue cause every time I got into my car today and started it up I got the warning page and my state reset to Washington D.C.

Now I have to find time get my car back into the dealership and let them have it at least half a day while they perform the update. Just annoying since I wasted an entire day of traveling, I am in a profession that requires me to be on the road constantly, so that they could not do the simple update that I gave them all the information required to do so. These dealerships wonder why we choose to take our vehicles to other shops for maintenance, it is crap like this that drives us away, well that and high prices.

Merchdawg, that really stinks and maybe you can find a new dealer to work with. When I took my Terrain in for the update I didn't have to prove anything. I just told them what it was doing and mentioned the TSB.

Strangely enough, the "I Agree" screen still pops up on occassion when starting the engine. It's only happened a 2-3 times over the past few weeks.
Mine did it every time I started my car up yesterday and reset the state. So I am 100% sure they didn't perform the TSB.

This isn't my regular dealership, but since I am constantly traveling, haven't been at my house since April 4th, it is hard to get it to them. I just hope I have time to let my vehicle sit in a shop for 3-4 hours again sometime before I put another 3k miles on it since my warranty runs out at 36,000 and I have just under 33,000 right now.
