low fuel light?

When my terrain bulb checks i see a low fuel light in the cluster, right above my fuel guage. but i noticed the other day that the DIC was showing 55km remaining and still no fuel light. it should have come on by then don't you think?

if you cant find a gas station in 55 kms (35 miles) you need to move

i think its 1 gallon it comes on at.....shouldnt ever really need a light to tell you your low on fuel....

Mine turned on with 65km left autonomy. Test it by running lower in fuel near a gas station

thats exactly the answer i was looking for.

The answer is yes or no. I have had cars where the fuel light came on when it was around 70-80km left according to the DIC. just curious, as i knew i was getting low and drove it for a couple more days to see if it did come on and it hadn't, i thought i had read something on here at one point that they didn't. or was that the washer fluid?

Either way, it isnt a HUGE issue as i normally fill up at around a 1/4 tank or so. Just wondering if that was one of the first year bugs.

When my light turned on, there was about 9L left in the gas tank. I put something like 70.2L when i filled it.

9L = 65km according to the DIC

it must calculate based off average mileage i suppose, i bet if i had driven around the block i would have seen the light. i put about 70 L in as well

Most GM autos wil show low fuel between 40 and 50 miles left.

Not to change the metrics, but my 2002 Sierra Denali low fuel light always came on with 2.5 US gallons left. Based on the mileage I expected I knew how far I could go.

I recently bought a used '11 Nox, the light came on, I was gonna get there or run out. I got there. I drove 40 miles and put 17.1 US gallons in a 17 gallon tank. :banana:
