2013 GMC Terrain SLT

I have noticed that the tiny dashboard display dimming / brightness adjustment dial/knob when turned all the way to the right has one more notch after full brightness that would seem to be to "lock" something "on" but it doesn't appear to actually DO anything. What is this extra click for and what does it do if it doesn't make any difference?

Usually the extra click turns the dome light on.

And that is exactly what I expected it to do, but it doesn't. I have been trying (if you read my other threads) to track down what could be causing a severe battery drain overnight, I discovered this and wondered why it didn't do anything.

my 2013 Nox was the same, however the 2022 does not do this.

Maybe they had lots of old style reostat type switches from older models they wanted to use up?

Solution - buy a new one! lol
