According to my dealer, he has an open allocation of 2 2011 Equinox's and mine is the only order in the pipeline. It has been a full two weeks since the order was placed and according to camarotracking.com, my order is still sitting at 1100. From reading these and other forums, the only cases I've seen where an order has taken longer than a week to move from 1100 to 2000 has been when the dealer had insufficient allocation.

What options do I have for verifying the dealer's allocation and/or getting more information about the status of my order, preferably without involving the dealer?

My 2011 Equinox order was submited by my dealer on June 7,2010. Later the order No. was given to me by the Dealer...and I immediately entered it on camarotracking.com. in June. It came up as a Terrain rather than an Equinox and showing a Dealer in Arkansas instead of my Dealer in mid Indiana. It sets on 1100 even now..still showing a Terrain on order..huh(?)! Several weeks ago I called my Dealer and informed him of what looks like a mix up. He stated clearly that the order number he gave me was correct..and there is no mix up. Camarotracking.com must be mixed up. He assured me that my 2011 Equinox would be built the week of Aug 2-6 and shipped thereafter. Should arrive Aug 23-27..or earlier. I've been trading with this family owned dealership for over thirty years..and they've never failed me yet.

The definition of 1100 is that the order is not being processed yet due to lack of dealer allocation. Had it been accepted to be built, regardless of its place in GM's queue for production, it would be at least at 2000.

Thank you for your input nonetheless.
