Been pecking around here for a couple weeks after looking at a 2010 SLT-2. Just got back from the dealer with a 2012 AWD SLT-2 with the V6 in white with the black interior. This is the wife's ride, and she seems to like it.
I reset the average mpg before we left on a quick test drive of about 12 miles in and out of town. When we got back to the dealer it chowed an average of 19.2. I know it's hardly an accurate estimate, but at least it's something. She'll be commuting about 60 miles a day, and it's all highway, so I'll watch it and post numbers to the forum for those that are searching for that stuff )like I was).
First impressions were very good. The interior quality is about what I would expect in an SUV in this price range. The lighting will take some getting used to. Is it just me that thinks its a bit tough to read the red buttons at night? I can also see now why SO MANY PEOPLE upgrade the low beam bulbs in these...wow what a weird line they cast. Might not be to bad in southern climates, but with fresh snow on the ground it is a very strange effect.
Ipod interface...I've read a lot of posts complaining about the usd interface with ipod. Perhaps there was an update, but I plugged my iphone straight into the usb, and all the artists, songs, genres, etc. were immediately available. Of course I only have a few hundred songs on my phone, but there was no lag. no reading, and we drove around town for about an hour without a hiccup.
Anyway, I'm off to internet land to look for accessories...need summer wheels & tires, grill, shark fin, low beams, all weather floor mats. window visors, and some sort of seat cover for the back seat so the dogs can ride when the wife decides its time.
Thanks to everyone for all the posts to the forum, I learned a ton in the last couple weeks...smoothest new car purchase I've ever made!
