Is it hard to replace.

What is bulb OEM part number.

Should I replace both sides ???

Any tips will help.

I tried searching site could not find a answer.

The vehicle owner's manual for our families 2013 Equinox has instructions (with pictures) on how to change the headlight bulb, and the bulb part number listed in it.

Have you read your vehicle owner's manual?

Most bulb mfgs. will tell you that you should replace them in pairs, but I don't go by that. When I have a cavity on the left eye tooth, I don't tell the dentist to fill the right eye tooth also ! LOL

Did a lot of research last night.

You must go in through the wheel well.

You have to loosen splash guard or even take it out.

Piss poor GM Set Up.

Hope to do it today. Temp might hit 35 today.

Will let you know how it goes.

hi ,

couldn't be easier ......

locate "cover " that has 3 "bars" on it at forward fender liner inside wheelhouse ( behind headlamp, again inside wheelhouse), remove torx screw,
unscrew cover ( looks like a peace sign with the bars )

unscrew cover at rear of headlight , will see the connector at back of headlamp bulb , undo tab on connector to release connector , unscrew bulb .

I can post the gm procedure if needed ....

depends on what model year he has.
the newer models got rid of the circular access hole.

My 2013 still has it.
I think it was 2014 they removed it...

But on my 2010 Traverse- I turn wheel inward--- remove about 4 screws- then I can bend back the liner- stick my hand up there and swap bulbs.. takes about 10 min per side on the Traverse.

Im sure its failry similar on the Nox.

I do replace bulbs in pairs.

Incandescent bulbs light output decreases over time.... as the metal on the filament slowly evaporates off- and eventually lands on the glass surface.... (you know youve seen those old bulbs with that shiny reflection on the inside).
Halogen helps diminish this---but still output drops over time.

these fender liners with the removable cap are only $50-65 each- depending on where you buy it..

wonder if its just easier to replace it-- and not have to deal with dealer charging you way more- for them to replace the bulb?

shows the part is good for 2010-2013..
wonder how much that area changed ... I mean would it fit 2015s?
it should...???

whats the dealer charge for bulb change? $40-$60? (Ive seen post that dealers charged over $100)

Good idea, my guess is it would fit the 2015 but not on the 2016-2017.

I would also change both low beam bulbs because they are always on with the DRL's.
The low beam circuit is a PWM circuit which is hard on bulbs, good time to upgrade to a better bulb.

Just got Equinox back from dealer.

I presently surprised cost only $48.39 PARTS AND LABOR.

ALSO GOT FREE CAR WASH.

Kudos to Frei Chevrolet....Marquette Mi.

I do not give dealership much praise but in this case I will.

Think I'd cut my own access hole before paying that. Wouldn't that buy me a Dremel for my tool collection?

Either get some "donor" plastic from a junkyard splash panel to cut the oversized covers you'd attach with two screws (and those metal nut-clips), or I'm sure you could find materials at a big-box home store to make the covers.

I paid $66 (incl shipping and tax) from Amazon for a replacement wheel well liner that was torn when I tapped a low ice bank turning into a tight driveway. It wasn't that difficult to remove once I figured out how to remove the plastic expansion fasteners and the correct hex driver to use. Based on that, I would just change the bulb myself if I ever had an issue. I don't think it would be worth $120 just in case I needed to change a bulb.
