Hi, I have an LT1 ordered, but they dont come with the factory fog lights, they have these ugly black covers, where they would go. I have spent alot of time trying to find factory lights, I dont even really care if they work. Well I feel like I just struck gold, so far. I found a website selling GM body parts, with an online "fish" and they are only $35 a piece. Will order one, and make sure it fits, sad part is my nox will not be here for at least a week, maybe two. enjoy. ;D

Thanks for the link as I'm in the same boat as you. There is a spot for a switch on the left side of the steering wheel, but don't know if it is wired up. I'm guessing no. However I have been honking of buying a pair and just putting then to replace the black pieces as you were thinking of doing.

back up again to see if anyone has tried this or looked into it more.

This says "bezel" so I'm guessing it doesn't have the light itself. I have found lights only on ebay for $52.

I did get mine installed, have not wired yet, I did order the bezels through gm, and then ordered OEM replacement lights, they fit numberous vehicles, most common, a 2008 Malibu. they snapped rate into the moulded housing that is part of the bumper cover, behind the black covers.

before going this route, I did order the bling light kit, and they are nothing like the factory, and you still need the chrome bezels, there was no way of mounting without drilling or doing something along that lines, called the company and they wanted me to glue pvc fitting onto the vehicle to house the lights, thank god they took them back. The OEM replacements I got of ebay for $95 and they are a projection style exactly like the factory, the others were just a blue shaded reflector housing.

How do do this with my Equinox? is it difficult, I have ordered the bezels and am waiting for them to do the change without damaging the bumper. Also is the 2008 malibu replacement light a direct fit without a hassle I know I will have to wire a switch to operate the lights, is there a harness available?
I appreciate any help you can give me, Thanks.

really wasnt that bad, I took the fillers off, had to pull and break the tab on them, only way to get them off, then used the screw for them to install the chrome bezels, and the malibu has the exact same fog light as these, as far as the lamp itself goes, the couldnt be any easier to install, I just took and snapped them into the back side of the housing thats moulded into the bumper cover, as far as wiring, I still havent done anything with them, I was more after just the look. Dont get roped into the bling light deal, they are absolutely walmart junk. they are just a standard reflector style lamp, with a blueish lense plus way to much rigging to install, the factorys are a projection style lamp that install with no gluing and screwing and are about the same price. Mine were a factory replacement and came with a relay and wire harness, which you need if wireing, because the factory one is not there.

but not accessable from front.

BTW the bezels are a GM part, ordered online from a GM dealer( for others who questioned me)

Thanks for the rely!

this is what I used, along with the factory bezels, and yes there is a screw, if look at where the screw hole is on your new chrome bezel, it is about a half inch towards the license plate on the fillers, and its impossible to reach from behind, because the bumpers impact bar is there. but for the chrome bezels they are just outside of this.

Now have bezels installed by dealer. The only way is to remove bumper cover and remove old screw and black bezel and replace with new bezel and screw 2 hr labor $180.00. No other way to do it as the bumper reinforcement is in the way. Wire and lights will come later!
Thanks for all who replied.

why didnt you just pull them and break the tabs, it really doesnt hurt any thing unless you plan on reusing the fillers? just curious.

If you break the tabs and install the bezels you still will not have propely installed them. It is necessary to hold them in with the attachment screw, otherwise they will eventually fall out. Because of the bumper reinforcement you have to remove the bumper to get to the attachment screw. A half a** job at best if you cut corners!

I agree, but the chrome bezels dont use the same hole as the fillers, and can be reached from behind. The tab that breaks is on the filler panel itself. after that has been removed the screw can be reached.

I just did this on my 2010 'Nox. This is super easy.
1. Order 2009 Malibu fog lamps only (20 per on ebay)
2. Order the bezels from the dealership or online site

Install was simple:
1. LIGHTLY (cant stress this enough!) pop out the box part of the front fog lamp fillers (WATCH THE PRESSURE POINTS!!)
2. on the leg part of the fillers there will be a screw with some small wire cutters cut the tab on the fillers
3. Undo the screw with a socket wrench
4. wipe the bumper clean, I used cleaner wax
5. Pop in the new Fox lamp Bezels, until they pop on all 4 corners
6. Using the other screw hole (furthest to the outside of the bumper) tighten down the screw
7. Snap into place the fog lamps using the existing mount on all 'Nox (NoxES? NoxI? Noxs, plural?)

Boom that's it!

Here are the after pics ('10 'Nox, 1lt)

I just realized that the fogs on the Equinox need to be turned on each time you start up the car. What a PITA. Anyone know how to make them always go on ?
