I'm back. Just picked up our 2018 FWD Terrain Denali Blue Steel Metallic. Dealer did a dealer trade from the same dealer we couldn't make a deal on his Satin Steel Metallic this Monday. My dealer asked if they would trade for it but they said they had somebody interested in it, I'm assuming he's hoping we'll come back and buy it from him.

RIT333, not much to tell yet. By the time we got out of there and had dinner we just went home. Drive home is only 3+ miles but already Grandma Leadfoot already has a hard acceleration recorded on OnStar. Do you have the 2.0L or the 1.5L?

Don't know why it takes so long to finalize the paperwork once you already have stuff agreed upon.

More than once have told whoever is necessary to make it understood whether it's a Car, Motorcycle, Camper, Boat etc .. Let me know when all the paperwork is ready as I don't do well just sitting around when I've been called and you Stated all is ready and then have to wait 2 hours .. Twice the Sale was lost because of this ..

We had the numbers, but when we got there he he suggested that we look at trying for the military discount to see if it would helps us any better, unlike last time which only took a short time, for some reason GMs Military site kept giving him an error so he was on the phone with them for over an hour before he finally got it.

All in all it wasn't all that bad.

Makes their outrageously fraudulent “doc fee” look better on a cost-per-hour basis (LOL!)

All these last-minute add-on dealer fees should be made illegal just like the “double (dealer markup) sticker” was back in the 80’s. They’re just fraudulent, potentially hidden, fees added to an agreed-upon price to pad dealer profit. I remember when I bought my ‘97 Taurus at Quirk in Boston (when the doc fee scam was just in its infancy), the guy added a $90 fee. When I asked what it was for he said, “oh - it’s a documentation fee ... everybody pays it”. I said, “give me the pen, I’ll fill out the dam# paperwork ... there’s no financing here - I’ll be done with it in a few minutes”. Wouldn’t let me. And then almost 3 hours later, I finally left the dealership with the car! Never go back there again!

Nowadays you see doc fees of anywhere from $300 to as high as $700!!! Better make sure you know what these fees are *ahead of time* so you can include them in your out-the-door price when you compare dealer offers.
