Plug your iPOD into the centre console USB port.
Turn the Terrain keyswitch "ON".
Select USB from the Touch Screen.

An iPOD icon should pop up in place of the USB icon on the touch screen display.
Press the iPOD icon.
Press "Menu" next to the text "iPOD" at the bottom left of the Touch Screen.
Arrow up/down and select "All songs".
Wait for "Creating List" to finish.
Press the "Menu/Select" button in the middle of the directional arrows on the Front Control Panel (not shown in owners manual, bummer).
The first song in the list should play.
Press the "Menu" button again.
Arrow up/down to "Shuffle" and select it, either via Touch Screen or "Menu/Select".
Press the FF button, or scroll up/down via the sterring wheel controls.
It should jump to the next song in a random order.
Took some palying around, but that's what works for us everytime.

Remember, this is for the touch screen LCD Display with NAV System.
Hope this helps someone and if you've found a shortcut to play shuffle mode from an iPOD 8GB nano, please, do share.
Thanks, geearhead.

Yes, when you select the iPOD from the touch screen, press "menu" and you can view (well we can with our 8GB iPOD nano) the songs as Albums, Artists, Genres, etc.
You can search for songs/artists as well, I believe.
Personally, I like the shuffle mode.

As SnowItch has already stated, no you cannot rip from an iPOD to the HDD.
Use a USB stick or CD with mp3's and copy to the HDD that way.

BTW, thanks for pointing out that 30GB is used by the NAV System, SnowItch.
I was wondering about that and keep forgetting to ask!
