I had the same problem on my 2019 Denali. Arrived home to see cover barely hanging on.
I saw your post and I have the same problem with my 2020 Equinox. When you spend this kind of money, we shouldn't have to have a cheap piece of plastic hanging . I bought my certified 2020 Equinox last summer and noticed that the cover was not attached securely across the top. I mentioned it to the sales mgr and he said he had alot of covers on hand and said he would replace it. This cover stayed in place for about a year and now it lets loose across the top. The attachment tabs on the bottom have kept it from dropping off. But it looks awful cheap when GM expects us to pay 30 to 40K for a vehicle. I'm gonna push the issue on my next oil change and see if there is a fix for this hitch cover.2018 LT 2.0... I've had to replace hitch cover at $50...
It just happened again!
Held by two plastic thumb screws that must loosening...
Anyone else??
I noticed how the cover was attached when I first got my 2019 Redline. I replaced the plastic fasteners with truss headed stainless steel screws, flat washers and Nylock nuts.I saw your post and I have the same problem with my 2020 Equinox. Did you ever get any resolution on this? I have the same issue. The cover stays on but the top row of teeth particularly at the top left, likes to pop out slightly.I saw your post and I have the same problem with my 2020 Equinox. I took the cover off and showed the service advisor that the top lets go on one side. He got me a new cover on warranty. Just put it on this morning. Hopefully this is all I have to do. I can see where there could be a design problem as wear and tear could allow the tabs to let go again. Time will tell but by then my vehicle will be out of warranty.Did you ever get any resolution on this? I have the same issue. I am having the hitch trim bezel installed at my dealer today. Ordered it after losing two of the hitch covers. Thought this would be an easy install at home, but when I got it in the mail it says you have to get the installation instructions from a service department. It is installed using rivets, so definitely a much more permanent option. I hope it looks nice...I've been thinking of getting the trim piece that exposes the receiver hitch... I think that the hitch exposed makes the little CUV look a little more rugged lol.
Mine is coming loose at the top, tabs won't stay in. It's like the tabs don't have enough lip on them to catch now. I wonder if there is some wear to the tab or holes from vibration or thermal damage.2018 LT 2.0... I've had to replace hitch cover at $50...
