Hail Storm!

I was out driving early yesterday morning and -thanks to our always unexpected missouri weather-got caught in a horrible storm. The equinox was handling the torrential downpours on the highway well...however what came next was horrible :(, the dreaded "pinging" sound of hail off the vehicle. It hailed for about 5 minutes and the only thing i kept repeating out loud i cannot type on this forum. Upon a quick inspection this morning i didnt see any massive damage, but i'll see more details i'm sure after i wash it next... i wish this experience upon no one. :-\

Terrible! I'd probably pull over, get out and lay on my Terrain. Maybe even recruit my passengers to jump up on the roof.

Hmm... maybe I should start carrying safety glasses just in case...
In a word that "sucks".

I would be frantically looking for an overpass.
I'm glad there doesn't appear to be any damage. Being from TX panhandle, our weather is the same. The first two days I had my 'Nox, it stayed parked in the garage due to the threat. Side note, my brother was travelling in OK this week and got caught in the tornados and torrential hail storms. He could barely see to park under an overpass. He has a Saturn Vue and incurred significant damage. At least he is alright....though scared to death. He doesn't usually get worked up in these types of situations, but it was bad enough to put him in panic mode.
I had a similar expeirence about a week ago. As I was driving I thought about the postings on this forum about the thinner sheet metal on the roof and got worried about the possibility of hail damage. The hail only lasted briefly and upon inspection I didn't find any damage either. Whew! :'(

Thats hilarious that you say that because my brain did the EXACT same thing in that moment....flew back to one of the topics on the thin roof sheet metal and i m thinking...ok this can definately not be good. However maybe the plastic like roof actually payed off in this situation by not denting! The horrible part was there were NO overpasses to get under, the one i did see was already occupied , and there were no exits to get off and find a gas station or anything to hide under. Blast!
