What is fun when you are about to park in a lot is to find a new Lexus, BMW or Acura crossover the same color as your Nox and park next to it. Then wait and watch the face of that driver when they come back to their car. Your Nox is better looking, has the same options and cost 25% less and has OnStar! Oh, that is a good time! However, I do feel kinda bad when I drive by/park near someone with a 2009 NOX. :'( I mean, they were kind of unlucky to not have waited on gotten a 2010, and now their stuck with a 2009...

I know what you mean. But it can also be a bit un-nerving .
A couple of times I've found hand prints. (Just the 2 sides of the hands) on my windows.
Like someone cupping there face to look in. Black with tinted windows. So you don't know if they were admirers or scoping thieves.

This stuff is sooo funny. My wife and I were at a restaurant last week. As we're walking out in the parking lot, there's this guy walking around my Terrain looking at everything. As we get closer, he does the hands on the window thing just as I press the unlock on the remote. He's a little embarrassed, but blurts out it's the first one he's seen and he just had to look. He says it looks much better than he expected and I told him just about everything on the car is better than I expected.

By the way, my neighbors love their new Terrain too. Now we've got a mocha and a merlot Terrain next door to each other!

hmmmm. I wonder about this. Right now, the supply is somewhat limited (and that may have been somewhat intentional by GM to maintain margins), but eventually, they will gear up production. I hope that I still think that these cars are cool when everyone else owns one. I think it might be annoying if my neighbors had them also. Maybe just one per block would be alright.

dm, I see what you mean. Exclusivity adds to value in some cases. I think I do like not being in the majority right now.

Even though I may have a Terrain next door, I still REALLY feel I have some exclusivity as I only see another one every week or so elsewhere. There just aren't any of these out there. I do see a new NOX more often, but even those are really scarce out there. I think it will be quite some time before the newness gets overwhelmed by the numbers of these cars on the road!

Yesterday, 3 NOXs appeared within a few blocks of my house (at grocery, gymnastics, and elementary school). I suppose it it was bound to happen. and it's probably a good thing for parts, mods, etc...but I think we all know that the whole 'exclusivity' thing is not going to last long. Enjoy it now!!!

We noticed we had the cupped hand marks on ours the other day when we went shopping. My wife was freaked out but I told her its pretty normal because there arent many Terrains in this neck of the woods.

Once you get one you definately start seeing more around you. It's funny because it almost turns into like a territory dispute only with cars. I saw for the first time in my neighborhood a white 2010 equinox drive down my street the other day as I drove past in my black/chrome nox and thought "well what is THAT person doing here?!" You instantly scan the competition as it drives by and begin mentally calculating how your car is better. Is it a sickness? maybe, but it is fun.
