Just to add to bigb12359's excellent diagnostic.
Fuel rail pressure at idle in closed loop should be 429 to 470 PSI.
If out of range, a DTC will set.

Thanks you all. On idle I have fuel pressure 40-50psi and fuel rail, 400-800kpsi?? per my OBD reader.
Could anyone share average LongTerm FUEL TRIM for 2013 2.4L Equinox, Im up to about 18% on idle with new pistons.

Low side fuel pressure (tank to high pressure pump inlet) should be 40 PSI minimum at idle, closed loop.
Ideal short and long term fuel trim should be 0%.

Any recommendations for smoke machine
If you only need a smoke machine once a year, CRC sells a smoke machine in a disposable spray can.
Check it out, perfect for a one time use.

Any recommendations for smoke machine
Smoke machines are usually used to find vacuum leaks.
They can also be used for pressure lines or actuators and valves.
I assumed you had used one before.
Google smoke machines for vacuum leaks and you will find a bunch of youtube videos showing how they work.
