Equinox center consol organizer

I plan to order a new Nox in the fall and have noticed during test drives that the center storage space (disigned to hold a laptop) is going to be a mess. Trying to find anything in there will require rooting around and digging for it. I'm thinking of finding one of those clear plastic organizers sold for tool boxes and tackle boxes with adjustable dividers. Granted it would require pulling the entire box out to locate items but at least everything would have a place and easily located. Has anyone tried one of these??

I've looked around and have seen nothing yet. Haven't tried that particularly, but I'm hoping GMC comes out with something like they do for their other SUV's and trucks
my self..............found lap top bag suits the purpose.......
Out of curiosity, how much stuff do you keep in your console? There is a little cubby kind of thing that rests on top, good for small things. The only other thing I really keep in the console is cd's, charger, and "valuables" that I hide from view until I take back inside the house later.
With all of the other storage places in the vehicle I don't keep the center console full to the point where it covers the USB port, which by the way, was an incredibly stupid place to put it. Papers I keep in the seat pockets, things I don't want to leave lay in the open I put in the glove compartment, and things I just want to keep in the car I put in the door pockets or the little storage buckets in the luggage area.
I would love an organizer, because I'm just not used to having that much room.

I actually took out the top cubby because I installed a gun safe in the middle for my piece. It's wide enough to put a biometric safe in there, and a guy in Tampa fitted it to the wall with a spring loaded function, so it pops out after it recognizes my fingerprint.

All that room though to me seems like a organizer should be made. Maybe someone would make one and sell them? A change drawer would have been amazing. I use that one rubberized part in front of the center console for change, but hate leaving it in plain site. People do a lot of dumb things for some change.

Maybe I'll hit up Lowe's or something and try a DIY for my friend's Equinox, since my safe is drilled into the bottom of the center console.

Wow, fingerprint operated gun safe installed in your center console? What do YOU do for a living, lol. Won't lie, first I've heard of that.
I'm a student! I just like to be safe?

Something like that, but slimmer. The guy in Tampa can fit a spring loaded holster inside of it and use the mechanism to raise the butt of the pistol out a little.

Fingerprint safe's are pretty common now, especially one's like the one on amazon, where you can type in the code without looking at the numbers, since your fingers are placed on them

I got friends I drive with, little cousins, and it's always better to install a safe in your car for unfortunate events...plus it's a awesome place to keep your valuables!
I'm not much of a pack rat so I don't have much in my car. In the center console I have some breath mints, pens, a disposable camera in case of an accident and small odds and ends in the top tray - a first aid kit goes in the bottom and fills that up pretty much.
The glove box hold my gas/mpg log book and insurence papers and a couple of nasty "PARKING TICKETS" to put on inconsiderate parkers and that's it.
I put the CD case of the disk I'm playing at the moment in the cubby hole where the center console and the dash join together. I don't keep CD's in the car - I had too many deform from the heat in the past and my son had his car windows broken just for the CD's he had in the car.
That's it - not much to worry about. The plastic parts box is a good idea if you have a lot of little stuff. They come in all kinds of sizes.
