Hello,
Purchased 2011 Equinox last month.
Driving to work, a warning came up on the DIC, regarding: "AC turned off because of high engine temperature", (The outdoor air temp was 5 degF) and the analog temperature gauge was no longer reading properly. Stopped and checked engine, and it was not overheating. Contacted On-Star for a diagnostic, that was a joke, I hung up after 15 minutes because I had to get into work. Took vehicle into dealership, and was informed the ECM went bad and it would take a few days to get the part in. I was issued a loaner vehicle, and would wait for the part. Fine, no big deal, until . . . I received a call from dealer this morning. Part is unavailable until March!!!! You have got to be kidding me, but he was not. GM does not have an ECM module for the Equinox available until March, or possibly in two (2) weeks at the earliest. That is ridiculous. It is very obvious that GM is putting everything into production, and is not considering the customers who have purchased a vehicle in good faith, and expect top notch service after the sale. I fully understand that things can go bad, but to take a month to get a replacement part for a 2011 model is pathetic at best. Extremely disappointed in GM's concern for its customers after the sale. Will have to seriously think about this incident when purchasing again. The vehicle only has 1,300 miles on it; now reliability concerns, and the ability to trust the vehicle are developing. Hopefully this is not a lemon.
GM needs to step up to the plate.
