I pulled the oil dip stick on my Nox and was surprised to see a 'cable' type dip stick with a plastic end. Is this common on the 2.4L engine or is this something new from GM? I'm not stating that this is bad but I didn't expect to see this. Just curious.
Deja vue---I did the same thing a couple days ago after reading a thread about excessive oil use in an I4...just to be sure I wasn't in the same boat. Noticed it was a bit different than those I've had on past vehicles and that the actual level indicators are a bit hard to decipher. Got out my reading glasses and I'll be good to go from now on. Good observation Snowgov! And by the way, I haven't used any oil---right at full level !!
That's exactly why I checked mine too, after reading the thread on oil consumption. And I had to get out the cheaters to read it too, Damned getting old is fun. At least we get to ride around in style now!
