Has anyone put (or considered putting) a custom exhaust on their terrain, specifically a V6 but info on either would be cool.

Painting the rear muffler canister black hides it very well, as opposed to leaving it stock color for all the world to see.

The 'Y' pipe looks restrictive. It's also a complicated piece. Shields, O2 bung, etc.. And of course, it's stainless steel.
Some cat convertors aren't overly restrictive, and a well tuned muffler can be quiet and still allow good flow.
