Equinox is a 2018 Premier with the 1.5L engine. Owners manual shows AC Delco PF64 and GM 12640455. I ordered, on line, and received oil filters labeled PF 64 and GM 12696048. I went back and reviewed the ad and the ad lists PF 64, PF 64F and 12640445, 12696048. Have some of these PNs been superceded? I'm not due for an oil change just yet because I've still got a couple of free bees at the dealer, just getting ready for when I start doing my own.

How about looking at the filter that is currently installed on the engine ?

I would but I have a vehicle on the lift right now and thought I'd ask. So if the one on the car now is either one of the two part numbers, do I throw the other away? What I wanted to know is if either of the part numbers had been superseded making both numbers correct. If I don't find out here I'll find out on my own.

The PF64 filter has undergone a redesign, and the part number has changed from 12640445 to 12696048.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. I also found a third part number, that being 12683286. Have you heard that any redesign was done for improved function?

Part number 12683286 is an older number that has been superseded by the other two. Refer to the link below for additional information regarding the redesign. I consider the latest design to be an improvement over the previous one, but many would argue otherwise.
